How to Get the URL for a Media Upload in WordPress

This guide will teach you how to retrieve the permalink URL that is generated by WordPress for a file upload if you wish to reference it within, or outside of your WordPress install.

1. Log into WordPress
2. Go to Media > Library

   

3. If you have not already, make sure you have uploaded your file.
4. Click on the media item you want to retrieve the URL for.
5. Click on ‘Copy URL to clipboard’
